The 47th Annual IATEFL Conference and Exhibition was held in Liverpool, UK between 8th – 12th April 2013. My presentation was about Alternative Assessment with Web 2.0 Tools.

On March 4th, the Gender Project Group of CIP organized a film viewing activity followed by a discussion/chat session with the film crew as part of their International Women’s Day celebration.

The theme of this conference was Effective Language School Management. Over 220 language education professionals from 21 countries attended this conference, making it the largest EAQUALS conference since the Association was founded in 1991.

The BALEAP Bieannial conference was held in Nottingham this year. Reyhan Salataci Ok did a presentation on short answer responses.

The American Association for Applied Linguitics (AAAL ) 2013 Conference was held in Dallas, Texas on March 16-21.

The 1st British Council Turkey Story Sharing Web Conference was a first of its kind online event which took place over the course of the weekend of 9th-10th February, 2013.
Sabancı University School of Languages was represented in the event by Adam Simpson, whose role as one of the event’s organizers was to act as a moderator. The presenters represented countries from every continent and entertained almost 650 participants from around the world. Attendees were treated to some fantastic presentations by an array of the biggest names in the world of storytelling.

The annual conference of the European Association for Language Testing and Assessment (EALTA) represents a major event in the calendar of the language testing community of Europe and beyond. Held in a different European city each year, it invariably attracts around 250 participants from over 30 countries in Europe, America and the Middle East.

The Oxford Professional Development Course, School Effectiveness and Improvement through Research and Development (SEIRD) designed and directed by Dr. Deniz Kurtoğlu Eken was held at TED University in Ankara on December 5-6-7, 2012.
