On 24th of February, another successful and intriguing ELT conference took place at Cevre College in Erenköy.
The 16th FOCI event, with the topic of ‘Putting grammar in in its place: alternative curricular approaches,’ was held at TOBB ETU university in Ankara on 20th and 21st of December.
I was recently invited to represent Eaquals with a plenary and workshop at the 25th Jubilee Conference of TESOL Macedonia Thrace. The conference was very well organized and attended by a highly motivated group of professionals from Greece and several other countries. I congratulate and thank Maria-Araxi Sachpazian, the Chair of TESOL Macedonia Thrace Northern Greece; Maria Theologidou, the General Secretary; and other Board Members for doing such an excellent job!
Ozel Turk Koleji in İzmir has a traditional ELT conference going on for so many years. This year, the theme was From X Gen Teachers to Gen Z students and how to liberate the learners. I find Turk Koleji’s approach very innovative and in accordance with our age’s needs and requirements. I joined Elna Coetzer’s workshop and I thought the workshop was very beneficial; therefore, I want to reflect on that particular workshop.
Mersin Üniversitesi, Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Karşılaştırmalı Edebiyat Bölümü tarafından 15 Aralık 2017 tarihinde düzenlenen “Üniversitelerde Edebiyat Eğitimi” çalıştayında “Edebiyat Eğitiminde Sabancı Üniversitesi Modeli” başlıklı bildirimi sundum.
Üsküdar American Academy organised a professional development event entitled Beyond Technology: The Future of Learning on 9th December 2017. Cristobal Cobo, Director of the Center for Research, did his plenary talk, Tech Tools: Reframing Instructional Design to Enhance Learning.
The 9th Forum on Assessment Issues (FOAI) was hosted by Social Sciences University of Ankara on 3-4 November, 2017. The event brought together over 30 institutions to discuss “Designing Speaking Rubrics”. We would like to thank our hosts for helping us to engage in fruitful discussions and exchange of ideas to better our practices in our institutions.
