QELTI-AN INITIATIVE TO DISRUPT HETERONORMATIVITY IN ELT

This March, Justin Jacobs wrote a piece for the Social Responsibility Interest Section for TESOL and was published in a newsletter giving his reflections on the one-year initiative he and Alp were involved in focusing on social justice in English language teaching. With a focus on sexism, heterosexism, and cissexism, the initiative gathered ELT professionals from EAP programs in higher educational institutions across İstanbul for monthly meetings to increase awareness and develop ways to disrupt heteronormativity in the EL classroom.
