EAQUALS SIP Workshop

As Project Partner of EAQUALS, Sabancı University School of Languages (SL) has successfully been involved in many EAQUALS projects to date. Since 2009, Dr. Deniz Kurtoğlu Eken and Sharon Çeltek have been actively involved in the EAQUALS Special Interest Project (SIP), EAQUALS Framework for Teacher Training and Development (TDFRAM) with their work on a wide range of tasks including the development of a ‘language thread’ for the framework, corpus analysis of descriptors, development of descriptors in the three phases of teacher development and the hosting of two SIP events at Sabancı University in the year 2011.  In September 2012, 46 members of the SL were involved in the piloting of the TDFRAM as a self-assessment tool, sharing their valuable feedback and suggestions.

On November 9-10, 2012, Dr. Deniz Kurtoğlu Eken represented the SL at the EAQUALS SIP Workshop held at the Goethe Institut in Munich, presenting SL’s piloting report on Teachers’ responses to the EAQUALS Framework for Language Teacher Training and Development at the symposium on ‘Teacher education, development and management’. She also chaired a discussion and reported on the SIP Group’s activities and future targets to the rest of EAQUALS members.
