Reyhan Salatacı Ok- Highlights of BALEAP 2013

The BALEAP Bieannial conference was held in Nottingham this year.  I did a presentation on short answer responses and explained what they are and how we teach them.  I also summarised the feedback I had collected from both teachers and students.  I also attended some interesting sessions.  Here are some highlights of the ones I attended.

Highlights of the EAQUALS Conference 18-20 April 2013 in Dublin

The theme of this conference was Effective Language School Management. Over 220 language education professionals from 21 countries attended this conference, making it the largest EAQUALS conference since the Association was founded in 1991.

Leaving a wonderful spring day back in İstanbul, we found ourselves in the windy cold of Liverpool, a small but welcoming city where the 47th Annual IATEFL Conference was being held. It was quite an honour to be there as a representative of Sabanci University in such a multi cultural event.

School of Languages Trainer Education Program (SLTEP)

SLTEP is designed to provide professional development in the area of language teacher education. It aims to help participants develop the knowledge, skills and awareness required for effective teacher training with a view to catering for the training and development needs of teachers in their own institutions and in a wider training context.

IATEFL 2013 has been a very rewarding experience for me. I had the opportunity to meet colleagues as well as publishers and trainers who work on the process of feedback provision on written work in academic settings, specifically peer-feedback, which was also the focus of my IATEFL 2013 session.
