Sabancı University School of Languages, Teacher Education and Development through Online Learning (SLTeDOL) offered another online course on Grammar Teaching and Learning (GTL 24) in 2024. SLTeDOL had previously offered Vocabulary Teaching and Learning courses (VTL 19 & VTL 20) and QR Codes in Teaching and Learning courses (QRTL 19 & QRTL 20) .

In a world where ideas are the currency of the 21st century, attending IATEFL in person for the first time is a unique experience. The 57th IATEFL Conference and Exhibition was full of thought-provoking sessions, SIG Showcases, Signature events, and pop-up presentations, accompanied by networking opportunities, cheerful chats, and revitalizing coffee breaks. The repercussions of all these still resonate loudly in my mind while trying to distill vast amounts of information down to its essence and taking ideas out of my ‘swag bag’ that I filled in during the Conference.

We are excited to share the successful completion of the second round of our speaking project, SL MASS, designed to enhance English speaking proficiency among students at R4, R3, and R2. This project aims to empower our students, enhancing their communication skills and confidence in both academic and personal contexts.

We are delighted to share an update about the "Teacher Education and Development through Online Learning (SL-TeDOL): Arts Integration in Foreign Language Instruction (AIFLI)" course, which was offered for the first time this semester at the Sabancı University School of Languages. This course was designed to introduce language instructors to the concept of arts integration, a creative approach that combines various art forms with language instruction.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the Eaquals Conference held in Lisbon, Portugal, from April 11-13, where I delivered a workshop entitled “Unlocking Creativity in Language Teaching Through Arts Integration”.

The English-Speaking Union National Championship held its prepared speech heats on March 22nd, 2024. The competition followed an adjudication process to determine the participants advancing to the grand finale. Jacqueline Einer was the Head of the Jury Panel and the other SL instructors were members of the jury.
